THE DESERT FOR US

According to scientists’ forecasts, by 2100 the average global air temperature may rise by 1.8–4 degrees Celsius. The impact of tropical cyclones on the climate will intensify, causing droughts or, conversely, floods in different regions of the planet. Scientists once again emphasized that these cataclysms will be the result of anthropogenic factors, namely the increase in greenhouse gas emissions.

This collection is my creative response to the issue of global warming. The garments are inspired by the desert: a place where the heat is unbearable yet protection from the sun is essential; where scorching days give way to cold nights; where the wind lifts hot sand and burns the skin. This is what our world could become. We may soon witness this reality in every corner of the Earth if the situation does not change. Through this collection, I wanted the viewer to imagine themselves, even for a moment, in such a reality — on a burning planet ruled by desert.

However, even among sands and winds there is room for hope. Nature has an astonishing power to heal itself. All we need to do is slow down and take a step toward it. In every conscious choice lies a chance for a better future — a future where the Earth turns green again.

The collection is made from natural materials such as linen and cotton, which support normal heat regulation and allow the skin to breathe. These materials are also environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
